This is a new and unopened complete COUNTED crosstitch kit of a design entitled "Sugar Skull." It is vivid, filigree decorated, design of a Mexican folk art skull or Calavera. The skulls, made of sugar cubes, are created for children for the Mexican Día de Muertos or Day of the Dead which has roots in the Aztec, Mayan, and Toltec cultural celebrations. You add shimmer and shine to this design using the included Mill Hill glass beads. Centered on the skull, you affix an orange leaf button (included.) This Calaveras design is a perfect way to remind us to celebrate our lives and mortality, to look at the past and future, all the while being in the present!
Manufacturer's note: "The Mill Hill button in this kit has been replaced with a comparable Just Another Button Company (JABC) button. There may be variation in design/color from the original button." We have included a close up image of the current button with the item pictures.

This xstitch kit is from the 2015 Mill Hill Autumn Series / Wichelt Imports. Assembled in the United States with parts from the USA, UK, France and Japan. The finished design size is 5" x 5" (12.7 x 12.7 cm.) If framing then the manufacturer recommends using a Mill Hill Matte Black 6" x 6" Frame - #GBFRM1 (Frame is NOT included.)
